Plastic is staked into soft dirt. Frost lifts the stakes, the roll heaves, and by year three you're re-staking it every spring. A poured curb is one continuous, fiber-reinforced ribbon with a steel cable running through it, sitting on a prepared base.

Poured curbing vs. paver blocks

Pavers look great until roots and settling open the joints. Weeds find the gaps. A continuous pour has no joints for anything to grow through.

Why we cut control joints

Concrete moves. A joint every 2 to 2.5 feet gives it a planned place to do that, so you get a tidy seam instead of a random crack.
